1. When the first and only girl student among about 700 boys, Ms.Shiv Raj Kumari accepted my invitation for a function i.e. college dinner in 1968, (See photo below). Some of my friends occupied my chair, simply for a photograph. Needless to say, record number of such photographs were ordered for print. We had been like that in our teens. Later on, Shiv Raj Kumari was given a compliment ,” Ek anaar sat sau bimar.”
A situation like this is now a historical fact of RECK/NITK.

2. In the year 2000, when I was serving as Deputy Director HIRMI (Haryana Irrigation Research & Management Institute Kurukshetra). Prof.Dr. D.V.S.Verma, along with Dr.Baldev Setia, now Prof. approached & desired for sponsorship from HIRssMI for a national level seminar Hydro-2000” in RECK. I was able to convince Ms Saroj Sewach I.A.S., the than Principal Director HIRMI for contributing for the technical seminar in my alma mater. I felt privileged  to share the dais with Dr Mehta,Director RECK,Dr DVS Verma,with two other guests,Dr Bangar Chairman HPSC  and Dr.Pro Vice-Chancellor Roorkee University. After my address,it was a pleasant surprise for me to witness huge clapping, when I most humbly said,” I feel proud  to be old student of Regional Engineering College Kurukshetra.
