RECK Memories |
: |
It was a strange state of mind as we progressed in engineering. When we entered college, everyone thought we will passout and become Executive Enginner in some governemt organisation or senior executive in some private company. By third year we started feeling we will only be able to become S.D.O's. By fourth year the expectations dropped down to only Sectional Officers (Entry level officer) and by the time we were to passout we started feeling we may not even get a job.
Memories of mess contractors (Singh Brothers, commonly called Ghera Singh abd Baghera Singh) of hostel number 4 are unforgettable.
Towards final year of our college many started preparing for higher studies abroad. Because of a brilliant career in college, I could secure admission and financial assistanceship in two of US universities. However, my parents never wanted their only child to leave them and go abroad. Hence finally a job in India, first in RECK itself and later in Indian Airlines. |
